Saturday 24th February - walks **** – Sunrise prom and Falkenham
circuit – sunny periods.
Walk 1.
Amazing for the second day running we have sunshine so I head down the
seafront at 6.30 to catch the sunrise which is at 6.50 today. The full moon
looks great first thing but despite being clear inland there is a large
bank of cloud out to sea which delays the arrival of the sun. I decide to
amble to the end of the prom at The Manor end and hope something good
happens? I reach the end of the prom without much sign of anything good but
spot a ladies bikes leaning against the sign for the little kiosk and think
there is a photo opportunity here:) I think the bike had been abandoned as
the rear tire was flat and the wheel was seized up so I didn’t think
anyone would mind if I borrowed for a bit so pushed it to the edge of the
prom and got a few nice pics as the sun made an appearance above the clouds
and after a lean spell was lucky enough to get a pic of the bike on ITV,
About Anglia weather forecast today:) The day then turned out really lovely
with fairly clear skys and light winds, I got some pics of the beach huts
and Martello Tower as I headed home for breakfast with the prom fillinng up
now with mainly dog walkers! I then mannged to do my exercises in the back
garden for the first time this year!
Walk 2.
It was too nice a day not to do something, Mag did not feel like a bike
ride with near eye still not right, hopefully things will improve when she
gets her new glasses on Tuesday, fingers crossed. So I packed another
picnic and we drove out to Falkenham Church for lunch with ‘Emily’
enjoying the sunshine and peace and quiet. There was a buzzard about and a
couple of deer in the distance, just lovely. I had already walked the best
part of three miles today so we didn’t want to go too far so just walked
down to the River Deben which was still another 2.40 miles! Thenn home to
watch a couple of rugby games which were pretty dull with Englannd being
particularly poor but at least Ipswich had another good win!
